Wraparound Corrugate Packaging Machines
Wraparound Packaging Equipment

With corrugated wraparound packaging, a sheet of cardboard is die-cut and folded. For a traditional regular slotted case (RSC), the flaps, overlapping each other, are located at the bottom and at the top, as the case is generally filled from the side. Wraparound packaging equipment significantly reduces the amount of corrugate overlaps while still providing a strong case that delivery superb palletizing and distribution integrity. The wraparound case represents a huge amount of material costs savings over a traditional RSC. Polypack, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of wraparound case packer machines to its existing lineup of shrink packaging equipment.

Savings Over Traditional RSCs

With wraparound technology, if the case has a low profile, the flaps will be on the smallest sides,  and since they will stay on the largest sides with a case, the savings are substantial.

There is also some savings in raw materials as the RSC has to be cut, folded, and glued prior to delivery,  but the wraparound is delivered as a flat piece of corrugated.

“Johanna foods has had good experience themselves with Polypack equipment, and they suggested we give it a look,” says CEA president Michael Skoczek. “Polypack came to our facility and showed us their capabilities. In both cases, the systems met our needs, and both have worked out well.”
